The investment in a warehouse located in the heart of the client\u2019s country and focused on intermodal transport will not only improve efficiency, it will also open the door to new customers and markets, while contributing to the achievement of sustainability goals and reducing the impact on the environment.<\/strong>[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1682323127004{margin-bottom: 10px !important;}”]<\/p>\n

It may appear that a single centralised warehouse would be easier to manage, yet there are obvious benefits when inventory is distributed across several strategic locations, as Arania is currently doing with new warehouses in Italy and Germany. The most relevant advantage lies in ensuring the flexibility demanded by large clients and improving the quality of service with rapid and efficient deliveries, using an intermodal transport system that is more sustainable.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

For Arania, which is always striving to meet its clients\u2019 needs in a fast and efficient manner, this represents an important advantage. Recently, Arania has been undertaking major investments in the renovation and digitisation of its logistics processes, as we reported last summer regarding the automation of the intermediate warehouse<\/a>.[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”16px”]
<\/span>An intermodal warehouse designed to fit the Arania logistics model<\/span><\/div><\/div>[vc_empty_space height=”12px”][vc_column_text]For example, the idea of implementing warehouses in Europe (first this facility in Italy and another one in Germany) comes from the GreenRoll project: an initiative to develop a strategic plan for sustainable logistics, where intermodal transport and the optimisation of resources are set to play a key role<\/a>. This is an innovative programme that Arania is developing together with the MBA Deusto Business School<\/a>, a strategic project aimed towards developing an innovative and sustainable logistics plan, more resilient against the contingencies of an increasingly volatile world.<\/p>\n

This new warehouses will boost flexibility, and they mission is framed within the logistics model the company is committed to, involving the continued promotion of technology and intermodality in transport, prioritising ship and rail over road transport.<\/p>\n

In the case of Italy, Arania has already established close ties with leading logistics providers such as Ambrogio Intermodal<\/a>, one of Italy\u2019s top intermodal transport companies, with more than 50 years of experience in both domestic and international markets, providing this new warehouse with transport capabilities that combine state-of-the-art technology with efficient and reliable services.[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”10px”]

Environmental commitment:<\/strong> When using rail for long-distance freight transport, greenhouse gas emissions can be significantly reduced in comparison to road transportation. Thanks to Arania\u2019s new intermodal warehouse, the company\u2019s carbon footprint in Italy has been reduced by 50%.<\/p>\n

Stock management:<\/strong> An intermodal warehouse close to major clients will also help Arania to maintain closer control over stock and shipping, potentially leading to improved efficiency and reduced transportation costs.
